Ashley has worked full time for Paws of Nature since January of 2018. In December of 2022 Ashley relocated to Portugal. Ashley continues to offer Virtual Cat Behavior Consults for Paws of Nature. Ashley is also currently setting up her own dog and cat behavior consulting and training business in Portugal. In July of 2022 she earned her credentials as a Certified Cat Behavior Consultant from the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. In May of 2020 Ashley was certified as a Fear Free Animal Trainer, specializing on Cooperative Care with both cats and dogs. Ashley received her credentials as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers in April of 2019.
Ashley Loehn has been involved in the animal care and welfare field for most of her life. Ashley started in a volunteer animal care position for the Dakin Humane Society in Springfield, MA and quickly took a staff position as an Adoption Counselor. Some of her many responsibilities included; assisting the behavior department in feline and canine behavior evaluations, working with fearful and sometimes aggressive animals, counseling clients who are struggling with cat behavior problems, counseling clients in finding the right animal for their family and lifestyle, and assisting with medical needs and care for a wide variety of animal species. During her 8 years on the job, Ashley assumed the role as a senior Adoption Counselor and was in charge of training all new adoption counselors into the position at Dakin Humane Society. Ashley also spent 1 year working as a veterinary technician for an animal hospital on Martha's Vineyard in MA.
Ashley’s other interests include horsemanship. She has worked with therapeutic riding horses, enabling people of all ages and abilities to experience the life changing friendship of an animal relationship.
