In person workshop held at Sandy Meadow Farm, 342 Union St in Westfield, MA.

This presentation runs approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours long with time for questions. This workshop is for adults only, please leave your pets and children at home with a trusted caregiver.

As babies hit their developmental milestones, the family dynamics within the home will begin to change and may impact the family dog. In this workshop we offer positive, practical, and fun solutions to address the challenges that arise. The goal for Dogs and Toddlers is to position the dog for success as the family grows, and at the same time keep children safe.

Some of the things we will cover include:

• Identifying common trouble spots between dogs and toddlers in the home and how to keep things safe.
• Specific ways to include dogs in daily baby routines in a safe and comfortable manner.
• Reading your dog’s body language and recognizing signs of stress.
• Realistic expectations of both child and dog.
• Must know information for parents who have babies soon to be crawling or walking.
• Educating parents and caregivers on different types of supervision and offering solutions for safety.

Your child will encounter dogs at friends and family member’s homes.

This presentation is highly recommended for families and care givers of children between the ages of 3 months and 3 years of age, whether you have a family dog or not.
